HACCP - Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points

According to Regulation (EC) No 852/2004, food and feed manufacturers are required to implement and operate a HACCP system. The Codex Alimentarius revised the system in 2020 the CXC 1-1969 publication on general rules for food hygiene. This publication includes the prerequisite programs as well as the HACCP principles.

The European Commission updated its communication in 2022, which includes the HACCP principles: 2022/C 355/01.
